Excerpt:

He pulled out her chair and she sat, watching his every move as he made his way to his own seat. “I hope this is okay. This is the most private table they have.”
“It’s perfect.” She tried to breathe normally and ignore the strange feeling in her stomach. Trace grinned, revealing the boyish dimples that framed his perfect mouth.
“They have the best steak here. Seriously. You better order one for yourself because you’re not getting any of mine.”
At that, she laughed and her nerves eased up a bit. “Oh, I bet you’d give me a bite if I asked nicely.”
He eyed her from over the top of his menu. “Do you ask for things nicely? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do that before.”
With her stomach clenching from the heat in his stare, Kylie put her menu aside. “Maybe you’ve never had anything I wanted badly enough to ask nicely for.” He raised a brow and opened his mouth to respond. But at that same moment, a waitress appeared and asked for their drink order. Kylie didn’t miss how flustered the girl became when she got an eyeful of Trace. It would’ve been irritating, but really, with the way he looked tonight, Kylie couldn’t blame her. She was still trying to get a handle on her own self.
When the waitress left, Trace leaned across the table. “Actually, I take that back. I’ve heard you ask nicely a time or two. Matter of fact, it bordered on begging. I think it went something like, ‘Oh God, yes, please. Trace, please.’”
Heat crawled over her skin at his imitation of her. Barely keeping the grin of embarrassment from her face, she shook her head. “You’re not right. What kind of thing is that to say to a girl on a first date?” He grinned back, the promise of something dark gleaming in his eyes.
“Considering this date is going to end with that dress on my bedroom floor and your legs wrapped around my neck, I think it’s a perfectly acceptable thing to say.” Good Lord. What was she going to do with this man? Oh yeah. Exactly what he’d just described.

Rock Chick Revolution
By Kristen Ashley
Rating: 4 Glasses of Wine
Blurb:
Ally Nightingale has secrets. Secrets she doesn't even share with the Rock Chicks. But two men know what she's up to. One has her back. The other has her heart, but he doesn't know it.
As Ally rewinds the last year of her life, she knows two things. One, she’s never going to get what every Rock Chick should have—her own Hot Bunch guy. And two, she’s a Nightingale through and through. She just isn’t sure what to do about that.
But as her secrets are revealed, the men in her life react. Darius Tucker, a lifelong friend, as usual takes her back. Ren Zano, the man she loves, isn’t quite so sure. The Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch and the entire gang at Fortnum’s weigh in, and a Rock Chick Revolution starts brewing.
It’s up to Ally to control it and prove what she knows down to her bones.
She’s a Rock Chick, she deserves her hot guy and she’s going to keep the one she wants…
Because she’s a Nightingale
Our Review:
About a year ago, I discovered a little book called Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley. Approximately 500 pages later, I was officially her biggest fan (or as big of fan as you can be after only one book). Within 30 days, I bought and read all 3 trillion of her books. Hi, my name is Aly and I am a Kristen Ashley addict. I absolutely adore everything she writes. I would probably even read a take out menu written by Kristen Ashley, and it would be the funniest fucking thing I have ever read.

"Ummm, yes I'd like to order the Cashew Crusted 'Babe' Burger. Your menu states that it's THE SHIT. Extra 'Alpha Male' Mayo please!"

Rock Chick Revolution is book eight in Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick series. If for some ludicrous reason you have not read the first seven books, you are seriously missing out. Get started reading them today, to hell with the rest of your TBR list.

Okay back to my review....

I can't explain to you how excited I was about Rock Chick Revolution,. I had a countdown, scheduled Rock Chick rereads, and Ash and I even did a little Kristen Ashley stalking. I started reading this book the minute it appeared on my iPad. And all too soon...I was done.

Ally Nightingale is not your typical Rock Chick. She is much stronger and a badass in her own right. Or at least that is what we are supposed to think... Ally fell short for me. I just didn't like her. She was, well...reasonable. Which is definitely not a word I would use to describe any of the other Rock Chicks. They are known to be quirky, crazy, and irrational. Ally was none of those things. I didn't hate her, I just didn't love her. She was no Ava, Indy, or even Roxie. But honestly who reads KA's books for the women? As much as I didn't love Ally, I really liked she and Ren together.
“I give you the sign, you move in.”
“What’s the sign?" Mace pushed."
"I was thinking a rain dance on the front lawn. That work for you?” I replied snottily.

“Okay, I’d had a variety of Rock Chick chinwags where the girls let it all hang out about their guys and how they communicated in Asshole, but I’d never experienced it personally. And Ren had just demonstrated he was fluent in Asshole. ”
To my absolute shock and maybe a little horror, Lorenzo "Ren" Zano is one of the more laid back of Kristen Ashley's alpha males. After meeting him in Rock Chick Revenge, I was sure Ren would rival Luke on the crazy scale. But nope, Ren is much more cool, and his own breed of bossy hot guy.  Don't get me wrong, the man is off the charts delicious and doesn't hold back with the "Asshole Speak". But there is just something well...reasonable about Ren too. For a couple that supposedly fights all the time, they were surprisingly tame.

“You know, just sayin’, you said this shit to me like you just said it to me rather than yellin’ at my ass until the only option I have to stop you from yellin’ is to tap your ass, it might have penetrated about ten months ago.”

So now I will tell you a few fun facts about this book and then trust that you are GOING to read it.

1) If you loved Rock Chick 1-7 you will love this one. Everything you have come to expect from this series, and Kristen Ashley, is present in Revolution as well.

2) Darius is a key player in this book and I LOVED getting to know him better. He has always been a favorite of mine.

3) This is the final book in the Rock Chick series, however to quote Semisonic "Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end" (and if you are anything like me you will now have "Closing Time" stuck in your head for the rest of the day) ;)

4) Grab your tissues, as you get the opportunity to say goodbye to almost the entire Rock Chick cast in this one.

*Sigh* It's over. The Rock Chicks have all found happy endings. They've found tough, bossy, sexy, bad ass men who put up with their crazies and love them most when they are throwing sass. Everyone deserves a man like that, right? The last to finally fall was Ally Nightingale. But damn it, Ren Zano was well worth the wait. Oh don't worry about me...I'll just sit here and cry. What? Kristen Ashley has another book called Jagged (Colorado Mountain Man #5) coming out in November? Phew, okay I think I can make it til then.
It wasn’t perfect, none of it.
But it was a fairytale.

And people needed to believe in
fairytales. Even flawed ones.

Maybe especially flawed ones.
And they needed to believe always.”

 Two Roads

Genre: Young Adult

SYNOPSIS:
The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn't hurt that he's part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.

But when Cali's parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.

And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren't that obnoxious after all…

With a wink and a smile, he can charm his way into any invite-only party, but that career-making story is nowhere to be found – until he meets Lia.

Wicked Beat
By Olivia Cunning
Rating: A Whole Bottle of Wine

Blurb:
From the moment he lays eyes on Sinners’ new front of house soundboard operator, drummer Eric Sticks knows he has to make Rebekah his. Unfortunately, she’s too busy trying to seduce guitarist Trey Mills to pay him much attention. Rebekah never planned to fall for the tall, goofy drummer with the weird sense of humor and a heart the size of the galaxy. But Eric makes her laugh and his constant attention makes her feel sexy and irresistible–exactly what she needs after the things her last lover said to her. A woman who gives as much as she takes, Rebekah makes Eric feel like a total stud–exactly what he needs after surviving a decade of watching the incredibly talented members of Sinners from the wings.

Review:
Holy "Hot Damn" overload. Wicked Beats by Olivia Cunning is A-M-A-Z-E-B-A-L-L-S!  Before I start this review...go buy this book. Nothing I say is ever going to do it justice.

When I first started Wicked Beats, I made a vow not to leave my house until it was finished. Sure I was glued to the book. But more importantly I did not have room in my purse for three pair of dry panties, an electric fan, 3 bottles of wine, and wet floor sign.

Apparently I throw jazz hands when falling...who knew!?

It's no secret that the quirky, funny, voyeur Eric Sticks is not my favorite Sinner. Yes, he sounds fun but when you are competing against the likes of Trey-FUCKING-Mills, "fun" just isn't going to cut it. About 25 pages into Wicked Beat, I became a Sticks groupie! He is officially my favorite now. I'm sure Trey and Jace will both be heartbroken when they hear this news. No need to fight boys, I'm always down for a Sinners foursome...just sayin. Okay back to Eric!

Mr Sticks was absolutely hilarious. I could not stop laughing.  However this book wasn't all about Eric. Reb is easily my favorite Lady Sinner. She is kind, sweet, and definitely not a push over. She is the perfect complement to my new book boyfriend. Aside from sweating and laughing my ass off, I was actually surprised at the emotional side Eric and Reb's relationship. They actually had a very deep connection, I wish Eric's past had been explored a little more.

Wicked Beat has everything you have come to expect from Olivia Cunning's Sinners On Tour Series. Gorgeous Rockers and tons of kink. From the very start, it's deliciously kinky, fantastically sweet, and all around Hott!  What a way to end the Sinners on Tour Series *sniff sniff, tear....SOB*

I breathe you tour

I Breathe You
By Lori L. Clark
Amazon | B&N
Rating: 4 Glasses of Wine
Synopsis:
When a tragic accident leaves Rhane Evans -- lead vocalist for the rock band Fate's Crazy -- permanently unable to speak above a whisper and kills the love of her life, she moves across the state to pick up the pieces. Shattered, Rhane struggles to understand what happened the night of the accident, an accident everyone blames her for, even though she wasn't driving the car. Enter Ian Callahan. He's the one person who may have a more tumultuous past than Rhane. Though they try hard to deny the sizzling attraction between them, it proves nearly impossible. When Ian's troubled past threatens to tear them apart, they begin to believe happiness isn't in their cards.

Our Review:

“Together we are. Together we will. Breathe in. Breathe out.”

When I first started this book I said to myself, "seriously, another book about some unknown band trying to make it big?" However, I quickly learned that this was not like the other cookie cutter stories I have read.

Enter Rhane Evans, lead singer for the up and coming band Fates Crazy. Her life consists of three things: her music, her band, and the three crazy guys that make her music a reality (one of them happens to be the love of her life). Disowned by her parents when she dropped out of college to pursue her dream, Rhane puts everything she has into her music. Heart, Soul, and Mind. Blood, Sweat, and Tears. But one tragic night changes everything and Rhane's life will never be the same. Left only with a whisper of a voice and a broken heart, Rhane attempts to rebuild her shattered life and find herself again.

“A tiny voice inside my head reminds me to just breathe. Inhale, one, two, three. Hold, one, two, three. Exhale, one, two, three. Repeat.”

Ian Callahan has been dealt his share of shit in life. His one ray of light is his daughter, Emmy. When Rhane's "Uncle T" hires Ian to oversee the remodel of her house, he doesn't know what to think of this spunky, blue haired girl.  Because Ian has failed at love before, has no idea how to open his heart to this beautifully broken girl. Ian and Rhane's relationship is complicated. Not only is the sexual tension thick enough to cut with a knife, but each have hurdles they are trying to over come. It proves hard to build a relationship when you don't really know who you are, but Ian stands by Rhane's side as she struggles with her past and her guilt.  Slowly, he consumes her heart. Pushing and pulling, loving and fighting, can these two broken people find redemption?

"It's okay Sunshine, I've got you," he murmurs. "Go on and cry like nobody's watching. I'll be your rock."

I was pleasantly pleased with this book.  Even though it would work as a stand alone novel, I really hope she continues this story because I have so many questions. Rhane and Ian's story is just getting started and I have a feeling we will be seeing more of them. Emotionally charged and raw, this book grips at your heart strings. I would highly recommend this book to my fellow readers. This hopeful reader gives I Breathe You by Lori Clark 4 glasses of White Zin! Hot Damn!!!
