The synopsis for Yearning Devotion does not due this book justice! YD is deep and dark and difficult to read at times. The things that have shaped Gwen in to the woman she is are hard to read and even harder to imagine. The fact that she comes out on the other side a person that is sane and able to function from day to day is nothing short of a miracle.
Gwen and McKayla are quite the pair, sharing a similar background that makes them who they are today. McKayla keeps Gwen steady and focused on what she is trying to accomplish in life. The fact that McKayla is so supportive when Gwen meets Cole just goes to show you that true love, in any form, really can “conquer all”.
This book is STEAMY! The love scenes in it are intense and H-O-T! I wasn’t really sure how I would feel about the F/F scenes, but actually they did not bother me at all. I loved how open and honest they were about their sexuality with each other and with other people. Now, imagine an incredibly sexy man having a hot three some with two gorgeous chicks in a strip club, and you can imagine what I was dreaming about later that night!!! It was a smokin’ hot love scene, that’s for sure!
My ONLY disappointment in this book is the fact that it leaves me hanging at the end……Like, it stops in the middle of a scene!!!! I was left with my mouth hanging open, wondering what was going on and when would I get to find out!
If you are looking for something that is intense and dark, this is definitely the book for you. Sometimes you really just want to read something that sucks you in and leaves your jaw on the floor in wonder of how the characters are able to survive what they have been through.
