When their pasts begin to push into their present and hurtful mistakes are made, the couple struggle with each other and their past demons. How much is too much? Will the couple be able to fight their way to a happily ever after? Are their lives together worth the fight?

Aly's Review:
Worth the Fight by L.D. Davis is officially one of my favorite point of view books. I'll be honest, I missed my favorite horse man Luke since Accidentally on Purpose ended. I think I still have hang over from that one. I am here to give you all some great news, HE'S BACK!!!

Worth the Fight is a book told from Luke's POV, and it spans the last half of Accidentally on Purpose and Worthy of Redemption. So if you haven't read those two first, you should probably get on that. They are fantastic and absolute must reads. Luke's POV is no different either. It stirred up all those crazy emotions I felt while reading the first two books.

L.D. did a great job bringing Luke, Emmy, Lucas, and yes...EVEN KYLE back in this book. I usually have a problem with POV books, because I feel like they are the exact same story, dialog, situations, etc... just from a different characters mouth. I won't lie, a lot of Worth The Fight is like that, but it's also more. We get more information about Luke, that we never knew in Accidentally on Purpose. Yes, we get in Luke's head, but we also get some new drama and angst that will keep you connected. I fell in love with Luke (and Emmy) all over again!

If you loved Accidentally on Purpose and Worthy of Redemption. There is no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy Worth the Fight also. I am giving the sexy, funny, sweet, and good hearted Luke Kessler a whole bottle of wine.

Otherwise Unharmed
By Shay Savage

Our Rating: A Whole Bottle of Wine

Otherwise Occupied Trailer:

After Evan Arden was imprisoned by the enemy for a year and a half, he returned from the desert as a military hero.  He’d suffered some minor injuries during his captivity, was discharged from the Marines with a touch of shellshock, but was considered otherwise unharmed.  Now he wonders how he ended up where he is—incarcerated in Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Center for using his sharpshooting expertise to take out the neighborhood park with a high-powered sniper rifle and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Lia Antonio, the woman he rescued from the desert heat the previous year, is the only person who can bring him out of his sleep-deprived psychosis and mounting PTSD.  When she does, Evan knows he can’t just let her go again.  He’s never considered leaving the business before—who retires from the mafia?—but he’s determined to get both Lia and himself out of harm’s way.

Evan faces overwhelming forces from multiple directions as a deal to get him out of jail turns more dangerous than he imagined.  With a mob war on the horizon and the feds holding evidence over his head, Evan has no choice but to throw himself into the middle of another warzone.

In his efforts to make things right, Evan crosses the wrong man and finds himself on the business end of the crosshairs.  With his acute perception and intelligence, he tries to stay a step ahead of his former co-workers, but this time, it isn’t just his own life on the line—he’s got to protect Lia from the man who once called him son.

Fall's Review:
This is the third and final book in the Evan Arden Trilogy. If you have NOT read Otherwise Alone and Otherwise Occupied then STOP and go buy them now. You will NOT be disappointed!!! I had the pleasure of reading some of Shay's stories through FanFiction before she became a published author. So when I found out that she was releasing books, I broke out the credit card and hit Amazon in search. I tore through the first two and waited very eagerly for the third. When I saw that she was asking for blogs to participate in her release tour I signed up as fast as I could. I am not sure if many of you know this, but Shay has a model she uses for Evan. He goes by the name Savage Trainer and, yes ladies, he is on twitter!  Let me tell you if you do not have a twitter account it is worth it to sign up just to look at this fine specimen of a man! HOLY SHIT!!!! OK I digress.........

"I don't want to hurt you," I said. "I do want to fuck the ever-loving shit out of you."

Evan Arden is a stone cold, sexy as sin killer. An ex-marine who was a POW for 18 months before he was rescued, he battles demons no one can understand everyday of his life. Trapped in his own mind, he fights to find peace and sanity but feels it slipping further away everyday. The one thing that lets him feel "real" is Lia. She's his precious angel who appeared to him and changed his world forever and the one thing in life, besides his dog, that he cares for and wants to protect. But the only reason she is in harms way is because of him. Because of his selfishness, he has pulled Lia into his world of guns, drugs, and killers. No one is safe and everyone is out to get you, even if they know you can put a bullet between their eyes with a blindfold on. As his sanity slowly slips and he is faced with protecting the one he loves, who will protect him? Can Evan battle his demons or will they consume him and drag him under for good?

"She was everything I needed, and I was fucking poison to her. I'd known it since the beginning, but I'd been to selfish to push her away."

Lia Antonio stumbled into Evan's life on accident. What she didn't know was that after meeting the sexy, secretive man with the adorable dog, her life would never be the same. Having survived and escaped an abusive relationship, Lia is not looking for a man, and especially not in the hot, dusty desert. But the passion between Evan and Lia is instant and sweltering. When Lia finally sees Evan again after searching for him for months, she does not expect to see him in cuffs and find out he is going to prison.  Determined to help Evan face his demons in whatever way she can, she enters his world. What do you say when you find out the love of your life is a hit man and kills with no emotion? Is Lia's heart strong enough to battle her own fears and demons and help Evan heal also?

This final book is PACKED with action. I LOVED this book the most out of the three. There are so many twists and turns and surprises that it's impossible to guess how it will end. As I reader, I find that refreshing. We also get to see a softer side of Evan when he is with Lia and its comforting especially when most of the time he is this troubled, cold, closed off shell of a man. They say love can heal all will just have to read to find out!
This WZ girl gives Otherwise Unharmed a whole bottle of Pinot......cause you are gonna need it to get through this book! Thank you Shay for taking us on this journey with you and I look forward to what you have in store for us next!!!!

Ash's Review:

Oh thank GOD!!! Finally, Ryland and Araya are back!!!!!  I was feeling a little empty there at the end of The Edge of Darkness.

Melissa picks up just about where she left off in TEOD and I am so glad that she did!! I was dying to know what was going to happen.  If you haven't had the chance to read TEOD, please go read it now. I truly loved that book.  You will be so glad that you did.  Plus, if you haven't read it, I'm about to ruin it for you and we can't have anyone mad at me for that!!!! Anyway, back to TGID.

Araya has been at the prestigious school for the blind for a few months when Ryland finally finds her and then works up the nerve to go see her.  And what does he find when he gets there? A happy Araya.  And because she is happy, he makes the decision to wait a while longer.  He still doesn't really know why she left to begin with, and seeing her happy and dancing again makes him question her feelings for him.

So Ryland waits, and he bides his time working for his father.  He is working with Careless, however he has not forgiven her for her role in humiliating the love of his life and using her to get back at her father. The term "father" is used loosely here.  JD is still a scheming and manipulative jackass.  Although, I have to admit I was a bit confused as to WHY he is the way he is.  And really, that question never gets answered.

Eventually they find their way back together, but the reunion isn't an easy one.  They have to deal with their feelings for each other and also their insecurities.  She thinks she is holding him back, he just wants to take care of her, she has to prove she can do it get the idea.  Not to mention, JD is involved in some major plotting against them, and it doesn't look good there for a while.  You start to wonder if maybe they are just doomed to fail.

Of course, there is a HEA...... And I am so glad for that!!!! I think Melissa did a GREAT job with this book and telling the story of Ryland and Araya.  I feel like it was a little rushed in parts, and I would have liked to have a little more information during the major turning point in the story (I can't tell you what though, because it's a BIG moment!). But aside from that, I LOVED seeing their relationship continue to grow.

I am giving The Grace in Darkness by Melissa Andrea four glasses of White Zin.....which I will have to wait until May to consume....... All these glasses of wine I have saved up, I'm gonna be drunk til September!!!!!

His fingers wrapped around the back of my neck, pulling me hard against his
body. I knew what he was attempting to do, but his plan was backfiring.
My body sighed at the contact, and every curve molded against him;
desperate to feel all of him.
“If I feel you beneath me, I won’t
be able to stop Araya. I want you too damn much! I want you, all of you.
I want to be buried so deep inside of you, you won’t know where I end
and you begin.” His breath showered my lips with warmth.
“I won’t want you to stop Ryland. I need you, all of you, now and forever.”
“And the rest?”</ p>
eyes move over my face, flushing my skin with the intensity of his
gaze. The rhythm of my heart increased, because I know what he wants me
to say.
“Say it.” He growls against my lips.

I met Sarah Kate Erickson when I was 21 years old. I was lucky enough to keep her for seven years before a tragic accident stole her from me. She didn’t die, but sometimes I think it would have been easier if she had.

I lived in a haze for those four years after the accident. Catering to her every need, even though she hated the very sight of my face. I tried to hold on to her and the future that we were supposed to build together. But you can’t hold on to someone that doesn’t exist anymore.

It wasn’t until I met Jesse Addison, a barista at the local coffee shop, that I realized I didn’t just lose Sarah that tragic night, I lost myself as well. Jesse taught me how to let go of the past and learn to love again. But what happens when your past haunts your present and the woman you used to love refuses to accept the woman you can’t live without?

**Intended for readers 18+. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone.**

"Sarah, don't do this. Damn it! Stay with me." I reach over and gently brush her blood soaked hair off her forehead. Even in this horrific moment, I'm in absolute awe of how beautiful she looks. Bleeding and broken, unmoving in my arms she is still the most mesmerizing woman I have ever laid eyes on. Deep down, I know this is just the husk of my wife. My Sarah would never have done this to herself. More importantly, she never would have done this to me. Maybe it takes this level of madness, but I finally realize that I have lost her completely.
Whether she lives or dies, Sarah is gone. This is not the woman who made me laugh more in seven years than the rest of my life combined. She definitely isn't the woman who I spent years planning a future with, a future that now no longer exists. I feel a heavy weight in my chest at my silent confession, but oddly enough I also feel a weight lifted off my shoulders. I have watched this woman disintegrate in front of my eyes for almost seven months; everyday losing her a little more. The light in her eyes fading, while piece by piece and bit by bit, she lost grip of reality. Mentally, emotionally, and now physically, she's left me.
My Sarah died seven months ago on her way home from dinner, and I will never see her walk back into my life. Suddenly, I can't breathe. I'm terrified, and not only because Sarah might finally succeed in taking her own life. I'm paralyzed by the realization that my life is spiraling down in a free fall headed straight for misery and the only thing I can think to do is anchor myself to this dying woman. I love Sarah with all my heart, but I am clinging not to the woman in my arms but rather to the life I thought we were going to have together. I have to accept that she isn't there anymore. Her heart might still be beating but the bloody, confused, emotionally lost woman I am holding now is only the shell of my first and only love.
"Where the fuck is that ambulance!" I yell as loud as my cracking voice will allow. Stroking the little bit of her unmarred skin that I'm able to reach, I whisper in her ear, "Hang on baby." Then I repeat the one sentence I have said almost daily since the tragic event that stole her from me. Maybe I say it for her, maybe just for me, but I know it is the biggest lie I have ever uttered. "Just hang on baby, it's all going to be okay."
