Monday, May 19, 2014

In this follow-up to Clipped Wings, the emotional love story continues between Hayden and Tenley; two young people who desperately want to love and be loved but are afraid to completely let go of their pasts.

In the wake of losing Tenley Page, tattooist Hayden Stryker's tumultuous past is haunting him. Plagued by nightmares about the murder of his parents, Hayden reaches out again to Tenley. Having run from the man she doesn't believe she deserves, Tenley finally lays her guilt to rest. Despite their intense physical attraction, Hayden and Tenley struggle to repair their fragile emotional connection. As Hayden gets closer to the truth, he must find a way to reconcile his guilt over his parents' death in order to keep the woman who finally cracked his armor, and found her way into his heart.

Falls Review
Rating: A whole bottle

In Inked Armor we pick up right where Clipped Wings left off. Tenely has been coerced back to her past and her home where her demons still live. Painful memories are dragged to the surface as Tenely struggles to finally lay the past to rest. She never realized how much it would hurt to be away from Hayden. As Tenely struggles with her demons and herself, can she fight her way to the surface? Can she realize that maybe despite what she's told herself, she is worthy of happiness again?

" I wanted him back - but I needed to be worthy of him first."

Hayden has worked hard at constructing his armor carefully around his heart. Tenely found a way to break through his armor, but then she was gone. Hayden didn't realize how deep he was in until she just....... left. Struggling to stay above water every second that Tenely is gone, those pieces of armor slowly begin to fit back into place. When Tenely appears like a light in the dark can they both work to put their pasts behind them and move forward? Can Tenely forgive herself and let her heart love again? Can Hayden tear down his armor for Tenely and let her in once more?

"Tenely was the inception, my new beginning, the rebirth i'd been striving for."

Inked Armor is the conclusion to Hayden and Tenely's story. It's an emotional ride that you'll never want to end. Helena has a way of dragging you into the story and making you feel what the characters are feeling. To me, a book that you start and find yourself looking at the clock at 3am and thinking "Have I really been reading all night?"mis the best kind of writing. This is a story that will stick with you and you will find yourself telling all your friends about. I know that I have already raved about it to my co-bloggers. If you haven't read Clipped Wings or Inked Armor then I hope that this review has given you the push that you need. It truly is an amazing story of love, acceptance and forgiveness with a cute little kitten named T.K. thrown into he mix. Go and get your copy of Inked Armor by Helena Hunting. I promise that you will not be disappointed! I look forward to reading what else Helena has in store for us.

I give Inked Armor a whole bottle of Pinot!
