Tyler stood there, his breath coming unevenly and his heart leaping at the sight of her. She leaned back against the wall, her eyes on her phone. She casually swiped her finger over the screen, clearly not concerned enough to look up and see who had followed her outside. Or maybe she already knew?
Her wavy red hair tumbled down her shoulders, falling halfway down her back, and she continued silently chanting something. His fingers itched with the need to bury themselves inside her waves. To find out if her hair felt as good as he remembered.
It couldn’t be. No one had hair that damned soft.
She wore a black dress that fell above the knee, and a pair of red heels that belonged over a man’s head, not on the ground. No. Scratch that. Not any man’s head.
His head.
When she bit down on her plump pink lip, a fist of desire clenched in his gut, squeezing tight. Shit. Forcing himself to
stop checking her out like a starved man looking at a steak dinner, he cleared his throat. Christine startled and her eyes focused, zeroing in on him within seconds.
She fisted her hands and her gaze dipped low. He forced himself to stand still and let her look her fill, just as he had with her. And, fuck, did she look.
Her gaze skimmed over him, seemingly taking in every detail. When she bit down harder on her lip, her cheeks becoming suffused with a charming blush, his stomach tightened in response. She met his eyes again; he forced himself to smile in what he hoped was a casual manner and didn’t come across as I must have you.

Falls Review
4 glasses

This is the first book I have read by J. Daniels. I had a fun time with this book. The characters are light and easy to enjoy. There was a good balance of humor, angst and love/lust. Dylan and Reese are easy to fall in love with.

"As long as i have you, I don't need anything else."

Dylan is a baker who makes the cake for her ex-boyfriends wedding. A commitment phobe she sets her sights on Reese and is DTF. Of course Reese being a man, when a beautiful woman is all about getting physical he is going to be on board. Dylan is afraid to commit and Reese is sick of random women and wants something more with Dylan. A game of cat and mouse with some humor and angst thrown in make this a well rounded book. I didn't feel it was over loaded with heartache.

"you've competley captivated me. My heart, my soul, my entire being."

The best news...........There will be another book after this one!!!!! I am looking forward to reading that one as well and seeing what happens with Dylan and Reese. I give Sweet Addiction by J. Daniels 4 glasses of Pinot!!! Go grab your copy and fall in love with Dylan and Reese. I can not wait for the next book!

J. Daniels was born and raised in Maryland.
After putting her kids to bed, she escapes into her cheeky world where some of her characters kiss, and some of them do a lot more than kiss. She is an avid reader and enjoys everything from unconventional romance to fantasy novels.

Title: Wherever You Will Go
Author: Stephanie Smith

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Brooke Willis had everything she ever wanted: a happy marriage, volunteer placement at the art gallery, and the promise of starting a family with the man of her dreams. Saxon Reed had everything he ever thought he needed: a successful career, nice cars, expensive apartment, and more money than he knew what to do with. After losing her husband Brooke insists on taking over his company to keep his dreams alive. Struggling in an industry she knows nothing about, Brooke turns to Saxon, her husband’s best friend and business partner, for guidance and support. Their mutual grief, and Saxon’s need to look after his best friend’s wife, creates a connection beyond just business. Can Brooke take over the company and find a new life without saying goodbye to the past? Can Saxon protect and care for Brooke without scaring her away. What happens when your heart doesn’t listen to your head? When lines are crossed and boundaries are pushed? “Life goes on, whether you choose to move forward and take a chance in the unknown or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could've been. I don’t want to live in the past anymore. I’m so lonely; there’s nothing for me here.”

I spot the familiar lady standing at the next stall, although she has aged considerably. “Oh My God. Sax you have to try this fudge!” I yell as I pull him along to the stall. “Twelve pack mixed please,” I ask the lady as Saxon raises his eyes at me. “What?” “That good huh?” He smirks. “It’s the best. I used to get it all the time when I was a kid and Dad would bring me here,” I tell him excitedly. The lady who has been manning this stall and making these delicious sweet treats for as long as I can remember hands me my bag of goodies and Saxon is paying her before I can even reach for my purse. “Thanks.” He smiles down at me. “If it makes you smile like that I’ll buy everything she’s got.” Heat warms my cheeks and I smile shyly. “Well done son,” the vendor says to Saxon. “A happy wife is a happy life.” “Don’t I know it,” he winks at her. I laugh and shake my head as he pulls me away from the stall. “Come on, you have to try some,” I say holding the bag right up to his face. “How can you still be eating after our late lunch and all the food samples you’ve had in the last couple hours?” he asks laughing at me. “There’s always room for fudge,” I answer him seriously. “Besides I’d rather be fat and happy than skinny and hungry.” Saxon’s face breaks into that huge grin that melts my insides. “That’s what I love about you Brooke.” “What? That I’m fat?” I ask with mock horror. “Shut up,” he laughs as he playfully shoves me, nearly into another shopper, before quickly grabbing me and pulling me into him. He wraps his arms around my shoulders and places his head into my neck. “Shit, I’m sorry Brooke. You’re so damn little I forget how strong I am.” His voice is serious but I can feel the laughter rolling through him from the quick breaths on my neck and his shaking shoulders. Lifting my hand I slap him across the back of the head and he quickly pulls away from me, laughter still written on his face. I take another piece of fudge and stuff it into my mouth before huffing at him and walking away. “Don’t eat too much fudge, we’ve still got dinner,” he scolds me. “Yes Dad.” I hear his quick footsteps catching up to me and I duck away as he nears me. I’m not nearly quick enough, probably because I’m more concerned about the bag of fudge in my hand, and he easily wraps his arm around my shoulders, holding me tight against him. I reach into my bag of fudge and go to shove one in his mouth. He grabs my wrist before I can make contact and looks down at me before he brings it to his mouth. He eats the fudge out of my fingers painfully slow. Purposefully torturing me as revenge. My body quakes with need and I squeeze my thighs together trying to alleviate the pressure he is building there. He hasn’t taken his eyes off mine and I stand there stunned, in a trance of lust. When he’s finished nibbling the fudge and my fingers, he slowly licks them clean. Taking each one into his mouth and slowly sucking, licking and nibbling it. He releases my hand from his mouth and intertwines our fingers. “You’re right, that’s fucking good fudge,” he says calmly and pulls me along, as if he didn’t just turn me into a puddle of mush.

Release Day Blitz: Mason by Tijan

Monday, June 16, 2014

Mason Kade is not known to be nice. He is ruthless, manipulative, and unforgiving. Most will say that he is an a**hole and he is to those that cross him or cross his loved ones. However, he does not want to be who he is. He does not enjoy hurting others, but there is no limit to the lengths he will go to protect himself and his brother. This is the story of how he came to be and this is why so many love Mason Kade.

Nate saw the fight in me the second I walked through the basement patio door. He put the video controller aside and cursed, raking his hand through his hair. “You’re going to cause a problem tonight, aren’t you?” There were four other people sitting on the couches and chairs in the room. I didn’t recognize any of them, but at Nate’s words they all looked at me. I said to them, “Who are you people?” “They’re friends. Their parents are friends with my parents.” Nate pointed to a guy. “That’s Nick.” A lanky guy, wearing a polo and trendy jeans nodded to me. “Yo.” Nate continued, pointing to the girl next to him. “That’s Maria.” “Hi.” She gave me a nervous smile. Brushing some of her blonde hair back, she moved away from Nick’s hand and her eyes grew more welcoming. He frowned at her, then it turned into scowl as he turned to me. I shot him a warning look. I wasn’t going to take any crap from him. At that, it went back to a frown, but there was still heat in his eyes. He could be a problem later. Nate kept on with the introductions. He gestured to the opposite couch where a girl sat. She had black hair and could’ve been a model. He said, “That’s Wren and the guy next to her is Wayne. They’re twins.” The guy said hello, but I ignored him and lingered on Wren. Her lips pressed together in a smug smirk, and she adjusted her legs, opening them for a second before she swung them back underneath her bottom. She wore a shirt that looked like a corset with a black bra underneath. Her breasts were full and I imagined cupping them later. They’d be a good handful. When my gaze snapped up to hers, the invitation was there and I nodded. If I didn’t get thrown out of the party or arrested, I knew what I’d be doing later. I gave the other guy a nod and headed for the bar in the basement. “Did you guys start drinking?” Nate followed me. He hopped on a bar stool when I went behind the counter and poured rum into a glass. As he watched me, he said, “Yeah, but we were waiting for you to start doing shots.” The others got up and stood around the bar. I skimmed them again and grunted. Nate’s parents were rich movie directors. That meant they had rich friends, who had rich kids, and since Nate’s parents directed major motion pictures, I knew the who’s-who were upstairs. I was a rich kid. I was aware of this, but I wasn’t an entitled prick like these four were. And the people upstairs were worse. Even now, glancing towards the ceiling, I could list the people up there. I finished mixing my drink and asked Nate, “Is my dad up there?” He tensed and shook his head. “No.” “Is he?” “Come on, Mason. Don’t do this.” I flashed him a hard grin. He was up there. “Is there food up there? I think I’m hungry.” “Mason. Seriously. Don’t.” Nick frowned. “What’s going on?” Maria and Wren shared a look, both smiling at each other. Wayne frowned at them, then at me, and swung to Nate. “What’s going on?” I slammed my drink back and started for the stairs. “Mason.” Nate got in front of me and tried to block me from the stairs. “Think about this. This is my parents’ house.” I stopped and flashed him a heated look. “Move, Monson.” He shook his head. “My parents already don’t like you. They threatened me the last time we got into trouble. They want to move from Fallen Crest and take me with them.” A voice in the back of my head was telling me to listen to him. He was my best friend. He was always at my side. He did whatever I needed and he took a lot of crap because of it. The other part of me wasn’t a voice. It was the need to pummel someone. The voice got silenced and a calm came over me. I needed to do this. “My dad is up there.” Nate was holding his hands up to me, but they lowered. An air of acceptance came over him and he said, “I know he is.” “You know who else is up there?” My voice grew rough, hardening. My jaw clenched and I lowered my head, as if I was going to charge right through him. He nodded. “I do.” “I’m going up there, Nate. I’m sorry, but I am. All his colleagues are up there. All those women he’s slept with. He keeps them around. He works with them. He introduces them to his friends. They’re all in the same social circle.” He gazed at me, studying me. I let him see me. I let him see the gnawing ache inside of me. It had been there forever. I couldn’t remember a time it wasn’t, and the person who put it there was with his friends. My dad was doing his thing. He was acting like he was perfect. He was pretending that he had never hurt anyone and he was getting away with it. “Nate,” I softened my tone, “I have to make him hurt. Just a little bit.” “He’s outside on the patio.” Then he stepped aside, and I didn’t wait for another second. I charged the stairs.

About the Author
Texas born and raised, I found my love for dirty books rather recently.  I work in real estate for my normal job and I write contemporary romance.  I plan on having Sinfully be the first of three in its series.  I would like to do a standalone after, but we’ll see!  I love sweet tea (made right!), cookie cake, and anything with chocolate and peanut butter.  I have a few guys at my gym that are my TDF’s (tall, dark, and fuckable) but also have a HSB (Hot Sauna Boy), because let’s be honest, they’re my motivation while I’m there!   I go to Las Vegas often but I swear I don’t have as much fun as Payton does.  Although, if I found myself a Tate there, I might change my opinion!

Authors such as Katy Evans, SE Hall, Angela Graham, Jasinda Wilder, and Jillian Dodd have been a large influence on me and I’m forever grateful.  I decided to write Sinfully on Black Friday in November 2013, on a whim.  I thought I’d get bored after a few pages but was captivated by the characters and it developed into something I am truly proud of.  When it comes to book boyfriends, I love those who are strong but with a little imperfection or tragedy in their past (Remy, Kellan, Q, Twitch are just a few of my favorites).  I LOVE talking to my readers so feel free to message me on Facebook.

“If I come inside tonight, I’m not returning to the hotel. I want you to know if we go inside, I’m staying.” I smiled at him in the darkness with only the street lights for illumination. “I’m sure.” The unsnapping of his seat belt echoed around us. “Eager much?” I teased. He growled and opened his door. “Coming?” he glanced at me. “God I hope so. And soon,” I mumbled softly under my breath. “Come again?” He grinned. My mind told me we needed to talk. My heart told my mind to shut it. My body ignored both of them and hummed with anticipation. When we made it inside the house, he pinned me against the wall and crushed my mouth with his. In romance writing there was a trope about tongues battling for dominance. I never understood the appeal or the action until that kiss. Massacred any resistance I still held. I rubbed against him like a cat. Yearning for Shiva’s multiple arms, my hands touched everywhere they could reach. They tangled into his hair, ran over his shoulders, inside his coat, under his sweater, and over his lower back before coming to rest on his ass. When we broke apart, panting for oxygen, he asked, “Am I forgiven?” “Less talking tonight. Talk tomorrow,” I said between pecks across his scruffy jaw. I nipped the smooth spot under his ear and inhaled a big dose of his pheromones. Not that I needed them. “Upstairs.” He guided me toward the stairs. With a single smooth swoop, he lifted me into his arms and carried me upstairs. Normally, I would have complained about weighing too much, or not wanting him to hurt his back, but the way he held me made me feel light, even dainty. And I wasn’t fool enough to argue. When he set me on the bed, I fell into the soft down of the duvet. Staring up at him, I remembered our first night together at his hotel. We might have had sex seven hundred ways to Sunday between now and then, but now, this, felt like the first time all over again. “You said no talking, but I’m not very good at following rules, so I’m ignoring your request for a second.” His dimple appeared. “I love you, Selah. Not a temporary kind of love either. I didn’t stop after our disastrous phone call, and I don’t have plans to stop. Ever.” “I love you. Truly, madly, deeply,” I whispered, lost in the depths of his eyes. He shook his head and chuckled. “You just quoted One Direction.” “Pretty sure it was a movie title first.” I sighed and rolled my eyes. “You know One Direction song titles?”

Coming this Summer…

He was trouble from the start, but I couldn't resist.
She was the best kind of trouble. The kind that was so wrong, it felt right.
I’ve tried and failed to stay away from him.
I’ve done everything in my power to make her mine and keep her.
He’s almost impossible to say no to.
She never tells me yes.
We’re always fighting.
When we’re not fighting, we’re… well… making up.
He makes me laugh so hard.
I miss her laugh the most.
I'm a liar.
She knows the truth, but won’t admit it.
Sometimes, I wish I'd never met him.
I wish we could meet all over again. I'd do better.
His sweet girlfriend knows.
The guy she’s with is a fool.
I’ll never love anyone like I love him.
She doesn’t love me enough to choose us.
It was the wrong place.
It was the wrong time.
It should have been him.
It will always be her.

Review: Between Sisters by Kristin Hannah

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Meghann Dontess is a woman haunted by heartbreak. Twenty-five years ago she was forced to make a terrible choice, one that cost her everything, including the love of her sister, Claire. Now, Meghann is a hotshot divorce attorney who doesn’t believe in intimacy–until she meets the one man who can change her mind.

Claire Cavenaugh has fallen in love for the first time in her life. As her wedding day approaches, she prepares to face her harsh, judgmental older sister and their self-absorbed mother. It is the first time they have been together in more than two decades. Over the course of a hot Pacific Northwest summer, these three women who believe they have nothing in common will try to become what they never were: a family.

Tender, funny, bittersweet, and wonderfully moving, Between Sisters celebrates the joys and heartaches that can only be shared by sisters, the mistakes made in the name of love and the healing power of new beginnings–all beautifully told by acclaimed author Kristin Hannah.
Ash's Review:
Four and a half glasses
Kristin Hannah is a master at evoking every emotion possible in a single book. She and Nicolas Sparks must trade notes on how to rip out their readers hearts all while weaving such an amazing story that you just can't put the book down!  I just finished Between Sisters and let me tell you: I laughed and cried, screamed and groaned through the entire book.  I've read several of her other books and I have loved all of them.  This book I especially enjoyed because it ended differently than some of her other books.

Between Sisters is guessed it: two sisters.  But this isn't your typical sister BFF story.  It's quite the opposite, in fact.  Claire and Meg have let the past, and more specifically their childhood, keep them apart as adults.  Sure, they keep in touch with each other, but it's more out of obligation than an affection for each other.

Meg is a forty-something hot shot divorce attorney that doesn't believe in love.  She has meaningless encounters with younger men to help fill the emptiness in her that she does not even realize is there.  She has one true friend and sees a psychiatrist regularly.  Meg refuses to truly acknowledge the damage her mother did to her, nor will she face her past.  Add in the fact that she tells it like it is, and not in a very nice way, and you can see how she would be difficult to connect with.

Claire is a thirty-something single mother that lives on the resort she owns with her father.  Never having been married, her entire world revolves around her five year old daughter Ali.  Claire used to dream of having a close relationship with Meg, but has accepted that it will never happen.  While she longs to be close to her sister, she doesn't put much effort forth either.

Their relationship changes when Claire meets Bobby Austin, has a whirlwind romance and calls Meg for her blessing on their upcoming wedding.  Because Meg doesn't believe in love and specializes in divorce, she protests this union loudly.  But Meg decides to be the supportive big sister and keep her harsh opinions to herself.  She also convinces Claire to let her plan the wedding and their relationship grows from there.

Add in a colorful cast of supporting characters, including their awful mother Ellie and Claire's loving father Sam, and this entire book is a "can't put down".  I don't want to spoil the whole book for you, but I will tell you that the whirlwind wedding is not the biggest obstacle they will overcome together.

I highly recommend Between Sisters by Kristin Hannah.  While not full of steamy, hot sexy scenes, it is definitely worth your time.  This White Zin lover is giving Kristen's book 4.5 glasses of wine.

Kristin Hannah was born in September 1960 in Southern California and grew up at the beach, making sand castles and playing in the surf. When she was eight years old, her father drove the family to Western Washington which they called home.

After working in a trendy advertising agency, Kristin decided to go to law school. "But you're going to be a writer" are the prophetic words she would never forget from her mother. Kristin was in her third-and final-year of law school and her mom was in the hospital, facing the end of her long battle with cancer. Kristin was shocked to discover that her mother believed she would become a writer. For the next few months, they collaborated on the worst, most clich├ęd historical romance ever written.

After her mom's death, she packed up all those bits and pieces of paper they'd collected and put them in a box in the back of her closet. Kristin got married and continued practicing law.

Then Kristin found out she was pregnant and was on bed rest for five months. By the time she'd read every book in the house and started asking her husband for cereal boxes to read, she knew she was a goner. That's when her husband reminded her of the book she'd started with her mom. Kristin pulled out the boxes of research material, dusted them off and began writing. By the time their son was born, she'd finished a first draft and found an obsession.

The rejections came, of course, and they stung for a while, but each one really just spurred her to try harder, work more. In 1990, Kristin got "the call," and in that moment, she went from a young mother with a cooler-than-average hobby to a professional writer, and has never looked back. In all the years between then and now, she have never lost her love of, or her enthusiasm for, telling stories. Kristin feels truly blessed to be a wife, a mother, and a writer.
