There is a love so fierce it cannot be measured.
A heart so strong it will never slow.
There is a promise so sure it can never lie.
He promised me that love forever.
Even when it wasn't enough.

Forever. Everlasting. Eternal.
There is no measure of time.
No sounds of the ticking of a clock.
Just the rising and falling of the sun.
And our own sense of forever.

But our forever isn't always.

Falls Review
A Whole Bottle

I want to start off by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Jay McLean. I have read all of her books and raved about them to my fellow bloggers. She has such an engaging writing style that you feel like you're sucked into the books, living the lives of the characters. It's really very seriously hard to put them down. I think we should develop a 12 step support group for the Forever series. More Than Forever is Cam and Lucy's story. If you have read Jay's other books (and I hope you have) then you have met Cam and Lucy, and probably if your like me--fallen in love with them. We get to see snippets of their relationship in the other books but this time around we get their story, the whole story.

The book starts when Cam and Lucy first meet when they are 15 and chronicles years of their lives. We get to watch them grow and change as they move from adolescence into adulthood. We also get visited by the other characters in her books since they are all a close knit group of friends.

Lucy is shy and stubborn but most of all she is fierce. When she loses someone so close to her heart at a young age she feels like she is slipping through the cracks. A father who's drowning in himself, school and 5 younger brothers who all look up to their big sister. She may be 15 but she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. When Cam shows up at her house her first instinct is to push him away. She doesn't need anyone's help nor does she need anyones pity. However, Cam doesn't seem to be getting the hints and the cute boy with the messy hair keeps showing up. Before she even realizes whats happening, he's become a part of her family. Once Lucy stops fighting her own fears and guilt she sees how amazing Cam is and how much she needs him in her life. Time passes and Lucy is faced with emotions she hasn't let herself feel in a long time. She thought her heart could only break once. She recovered that time but this time it might just destroy her. Life throws everything it can at Lucy and tests just how strong she can be even when her forever isn't at her side. Sometimes we have to ask ourselves is forever enough?

Cam has a heart the size of the world that's made of gold. Ever since he was a young kid he has always thought of others and put them first. When he notices Lucy sitting on the bleachers reading a book and rocking a baby he can't help but stare. Cameron's world forever changed in that one minute. No matter how hard Lucy tried to push him away he keeps coming back. She needs him and he wants to be the one to make her smile again. At all of 15 years old,  Cam has found the love of his life--his forever. Life sucks and it likes to test you and make you work for what you want. Why can't things just ever be easy?

When Cam goes off to college he is pushed to his limits. A misunderstanding could cost him his heart. Why does it have to be so hard to make everyone happy? When is enough, enough? Just when Cam thinks things are on the up life throws a fast ball right at his heart. It breaks and shatters and he isn't so sure this time that he can recover, that things will ever be the same. Just how strong is love?

This book was AMAZING!!!! If I could give it 2 bottles of wine I would. I can not express how much I loved it. Not one part of the book left me feeling lost or confused. I love Cam so hard and Lucy could be my real life BFF. I HIGHLY encourage you to read this book and tell all your friends about it. They will fall in love and be a forever fan of Jay McLeans just like me! I give More Than Forever a whole bottle of pinot (2 if i could). Trust me you don't want to miss this!!!!!! Love it Jay, Love you!!!!!!

I see her wobble on her feet before she slowly tumbles

to the ground. Her knees give out first, then the rest of

her. It feels like I should've gotten to her earlier, but

seconds of panic took place before my mind kicked into

gear. And the rest is a blur.

Her friend's standing over us while I rest her head on

my lap. "Lucy," I say. And it's the first time I've said

her name out loud. It'd been over three weeks since I'd

learned it.

"What happened?" Logan asks her friend.

"I don't know." She's as panicked as I am, if not

"Is she dehydrated?" Logan picks up what looks like an

uneaten sandwich. "Is this hers? Has she eaten?" I don't

know why it annoys me that Logan is asking all the right

questions and all I can do is stare down at her. She's

breathing, so I guess that's something.

He drops down on his knees on the other side of her and

pours water from his bottle into his hand, and then he

runs it across her forehead and into her hairline.

"Is she alright, mate?" Jake asks. He's new and has a

weird accent but Logan seems to think he's cool so we

keep him around.

Logan does the water thing again, and this time her

eyes slowly flutter open.

And I release the breath I was holding.

"It's okay," Logan says to her, "you just passed out."

He's in her face now, and I want to punch him for being

the first thing she sees when she comes to. I was here

first; I was the one watching her when she fell. It

should have been me.

The More Series

More Than This, #1

In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.

I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.

I couldn’t even predict it.

It was one night.

One night when everything changed.

It was so much more than just the betrayal.

It was the Tragedy.

The Deaths.

The Murders.

But it was also that feeling.

The feeling of falling.

More Than Her, #2

For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction." For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences. It was my choice to walk away the first time. And my choice to chase her the second. But sometimes you don't get a choice, and all you get are the consequences.” "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” Unless that someone is Logan Matthews. Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away. It didn't give me the courage to fight for him. And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

More Than Him, #3

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Marianne Williamson

We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we're back.
And we're fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.
